Old German Advertisement
Here you can see an old ad from Henzi & Pfaff advertising the watch that went up the mountain. If you look closely, you can see that the dial and hands are very strongly influenced by the original watch. Numeral indexes on the 3 – 6 – 9 and 12 hours, bright white dial, “sword” hands for the hour and minutes and finally a long central second hand. The second hand is colored in a dark blood red color, memorating the people who didn’t return from the Nanga Parbat.

The movement
The movement is specially made from scratch for this watch. The luxury aspect comes mainly from the micro-rotor mechanism. Normally, an automatic rotor is placed on top of a movement, while here the rotor is placed between the bridges. The alpinism part comes from the height lines of the Nanga Parbat (like on an old map) engraved in the bridges, filled with BGW9 SuperLuminova. This lights up bright blue in the night, memorating the permafrost on the top of the mountain.
